ABOUT THE SHOW

The one-hour adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, the classic tale by L. Frank Baum that has been entertaining audiences for ages, features the Munchkin puppets and is tailored for audiences 2-7 years old. Rediscover the joy of following the yellow brick road with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion as they travel through a reimagined world of Oz.

CAST

Amber Dickerson (Dorothy). Originally from Carnesville, GA, Amber holds her B.F.A in Theatre Performance from Columbus State University and her B.S. in Developmental Psychology from CUNY. Other Vital Theatre credits include Pinkalicious: The Musical (Pinkalicious) and Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas (JoJo). Favorite credits include Bat Boy (Shelley), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hermia), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Sally) and The Rocky Horror Show (Janet). Alexander Sanders (Scarecrow/Hunk)) is very grateful and excited to be a part of Wizard of Oz! He was last seen in Hair:The Musical in Woodstock, Vermont and Off-Broadway in Endangered:the Musical as Snoop. He is a graduate from Pace University’s BFA Musical Theater program. Elora Daniels (Aunt Em/Wicked Witch/Wizard) is thrilled to be back with the Vital family! She has enjoyed performing in "Pinkalicious" and "Flight School" on the Upper West Side and on stages across the country in the national tours of "Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Live!" and "Alexander Who’s Not… Going to Move." Michael Schloegl (Concept and Design) is one of the founding members of Vital Theatre Company. His original show, Three Bears and A Babe, started the first Vital children's theatre season. He works regionally as a director-choreographer (Footloose, Grease, Bring it On!, All Shook Up, Legally Blonde, Saturday Night Fever). Michael is also a costume designer, playwright, and a children's book author/illustrator. His original writing credits include: It's Up In the Air!, Calling All Toys, The Chrismouse Story and the school musical touring show, History Time Henry. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe in shows such as: West Side Story, Oklahoma, The Will Rogers Follies, and A Chorus Line. As a theatre educator, he directs musical theatre shows and master classes for students throughout the New York tristate area and Canada.

Holly Pocket McCaffrey (Costumes) is delighted to be working with Vital Theatre Company again. She has previously assisted on Kid Frankenstein (2017), Owen and Mzee The Musical (2017), and the Vital tours of Pinkalicious The Musical (2017) and Flight School The Musical (2017). Holly has also worked with the Costume Design teams for the An American In Paris 1st National Tour and the School Of Rock 1st National Tour. She was also the Assistant Costumer for the Mint Theater Company's production of Hindle Wakes (2017). Holly has had the pleasure to stitch for Les Miserables North American Tour (2017), From Here to Eternity (2017) at Ogunquit Playhouse, and Jersey Boys (2017) at New World Stages.
